Job Description:
As part of Genworth Financial, Inc., a leader in the insurance
sector, the Actuarial Development Program Internship offers a
dynamic introduction to the world of long term care insurance,
mortgage insurance, and annuity retirement solutions. This
competitive internship is designed to attract, develop, and inspire
students in the actuarial field and offers hands-on exposure to
real-world financial challenges, enhancing academic learnings with
practical work experience. Assist in the development and pricing of
insurance products. Support the actuarial team in data analysis and
model testing. Participate in research and assessments pertinent to
risk evaluation. Collaborate on projects that refine financial
forecasts and business strategies. Engage in rigorous training
sessions and meetings with key company stakeholders. Strong
analytical and mathematical skills. Proficient in statistical and
actuarial software (e.g., SAS, R, Python). Excellent communication
and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively in both
independent and team environments. Solid understanding of financial
and economic concepts. Progress towards passing Actuarial exams (at
least one preliminary exam completed is preferable). Membership in
relevant professional bodies such as SOA (Society of Actuaries) or
CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) is an advantage but not
required.
