Job Duties

Multiple positions will be filled from this posting located in the City of Fredericksburg and Hanover County.

This position will protect the public by directing families, law enforcement, schools, other agencies, and the general public to appropriate Departmental personnel and services; producing oral and written communication which facilitates the mission of the Department through organized recordkeeping and data entry; supporting the effort of the officers of the agency through proper appointment and office management; and ensures quality clerical support/services to the staff of this agency through policies and procedures required by the Department, Unit, State, and/or Judicial requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, selected candidates must possess the following:
---Working knowledge of office practices and procedures;
---Knowledge of manual and automated filing systems;
---Experience typing correspondence and transcribing;
---Knowledge of Microsoft Office software to include Word and Excel;
---Experience operating a multi-line telephone system;
---Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of staff;
---Ability to organize work and make independent work processing decisions.

Additional Considerations

Additional considerations include the following:
---Experience in an administrative support position
---Experience using MS Office applications.
