Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth
to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public

Commonwealth. DJJ is currently hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant
(WWTP) Supervisor. This role will provide operation and operational
supervision of the domestic water and wastewater plants for DJJ
Virginia Public Safety Treatment Center and Barrett WWTP to
maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Strives to
protect the existing high quality of state water and maintain an
effluent of discharge of such quality that will provide for health,
welfare and safety of the community and protection of fish, game,
and other aquatic life. Perform duties safely and in a manner that
supports the mission and goals of the Department of Juvenile
Justice. Candidate is required to maintain a Class I Wastewater
Operator License and Class IV Water License. Job responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: Supervise and coordinate the work
of staff. Analyze operational data and troubleshoot treatment
processes. Maintain detailed operational records and prepare
reports. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Respond effectively to emergencies and operational challenges.
Minimum Qualifications Extensive training/experience in wastewater
or water treatment plant operation as evidenced by the level of
licensure. Experience in preparing and maintaining operating
budgets. Experience in the supervision of employees. Additional
Considerations Knowledge of discharge permits, reporting
requirements, and inspection procedures. Special Instructions You
