Job Description Job Description The Collision Refinish
Technician is responsible for restoring repaired vehicles to their
pre-accident condition through expert preparation, color matching,
and refinishing. This role ensures all paintwork meets manufacturer
specifications and the shop’s quality standards for appearance and
durability. Key responsibilities include preparing surfaces for
painting, mixing and matching colors, applying primers and
topcoats, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong technical
skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship
and customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Safely and properly
operate all refinish and body shop equipment in accordance with
company and manufacturer guidelines. - Prepare vehicle surfaces by
removing rust, grease, and contaminants, and by sanding, masking,
and cleaning areas to ensure proper paint adhesion. - Mix and match
paints, primers, and coatings to achieve accurate color and finish
specifications - Apply primer, basecoat, and clearcoat finishes
using appropriate spray equipment and techniques. - Inspect
completed paint work for quality, ensuring color accuracy, gloss
consistency, and defect-free finishes - Perform necessary touch-ups
or corrections to meet the shop’s quality and customer satisfaction
standards. - Maintain all tools, spray guns, and refinishing
equipment in proper working condition; clean and store them
according to shop procedures. - Follow all safety protocols and
wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators,
at all times. - Comply with all environmental and regulatory
requirements, including proper handling and disposal of paint
materials and hazardous waste. - Understands, keeps abreast of and
complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body
shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA
Right-to-Know etc. - Support team members with vehicle preparation,
refinishing, and workflow coordination as needed to maintain
production efficiency. - Keep the work area clean, organized, and
free of hazards to promote a safe and productive environment -
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall shop
operations. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of

High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school training
preferred - Minimum 3 years of experience in autobody refinishing
or collision repair refinishing - Proficiency with collision repair
refinishing equipment Language Skills - Ability to read repair
estimates and work orders - Ability to read and interpret documents
such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and
procedure manuals. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - I-CAR
and/or OEM Certifications are desirable but not required. - Annual
training required. - Valid driver’s license and clean driving
record required. Physical Demands - Physical ability to lift up to
50 lbs., bend, kneel, and stand for long periods. - Reasonable
