Lead Carpenter - Working Project Lead

Company: Loudoun Basements
Location: Chantilly
Posted on: April 3, 2026

Job Description:

Job Description Job Description The Role This is a hybrid position for someone who is both an exceptional craftsman and a natural leader. You’ll be in the field doing the work — rough framing, finish carpentry, punch-out — and you’ll also be the person who owns the project: keeping it on track, communicating with clients on-site, coordinating subs, and making sure every detail is right before the final walkthrough. You’re not just executing tasks. You’re running the job. Company truck provided with good driving record. Responsibilities In the Field: - Execute structural framing for basement layouts per plans and specifications - Install interior doors, baseboards, window and door trim, crown molding, and built-in features - Handle flooring, bathroom accessories, egress windows, and general finish work - Execute punch-out and final detailing to ensure zero open items at client walkthrough Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite that reflects respect for the homeowner’s property Running the Project: - Own day-to-day project execution across assigned projects - Coordinate subcontractor scheduling and on-site sequencing - Communicate with clients on-site in a professional, solution-oriented manner - Identify scope changes, document them, and escalate appropriately - Complete accurate daily logs and time tracking in Ressio What We’re Looking For - Extensive residential carpentry experience in both rough and finish work — this is not an entry-level position - A track record of running or leading projects, not just working on them - Someone who takes genuine ownership: if it’s your job, it gets done right - Strong, professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and teammates - Must have A well-equipped set of professional-grade tools - Ability to work throughout Loudoun County and surrounding Northern Virginia Who Will Thrive Here We run a disciplined operation. Every project is planned carefully before it starts, so that when things come up — and they always do — we’re not scrambling. We stay calm when others don’t, and our clients notice. If you’ve spent years working for contractors who are constantly reacting, never quite on top of things, and always a step behind — this will feel different. We have systems, we follow them, and we hold each other to a high standard. That’s not something we say to sound good. It’s how we actually operate. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up ready, and genuinely cares about the outcome — not just for the company, but for the homeowner whose basement they’re building. Why Loudoun Basements We have built the foundation — estimating workflows, production sequencing, client communication standards — and we are actively refining them. This role is an opportunity to step into a company that already has its act together and help make it even better. We want someone who has seen what works and what doesn’t, and who brings that experience to the table, not just their tool belt. The right person won’t just follow the systems we have — they’ll identify gaps, suggest improvements, and help us build processes that scale. If you’ve ever worked a job and thought “there’s a better way to do this,” this is the place where that instinct is actually welcomed and acted on. Steady, high-quality project flow throughout Northern Virginia — no boom-and-bust cycle. Interesting, varied work: luxury in-law suites, home theaters, saunas, wet bars, full basement finishes. A team that treats you like a professional and expects the same in return. Clear opportunity to grow as the company grows. Company Description About Loudoun Basements We’re not your typical remodeling company — and we’re not looking for a typical carpenter. At Loudoun Basements, we transform unused basement spaces into the rooms our clients have been dreaming about: home theaters, wet bars, in-law suites, saunas, playrooms, and more. We operate in the premium market across Northern Virginia and have built our reputation on one thing our clients consistently say: “We couldn’t believe how easy it was.” That doesn’t happen by accident. We plan everything — from scheduling to material selections to client communication — so that nothing falls through the cracks and nobody has to scramble. We treat our clients like neighbors. We treat our team like family. And we’re looking for someone who gets that.
