Job Title: Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: District of Columbia RN Licensure required Certifications: BLS, VAD Certification preferred within 1.5 years Must-Have: - Proof of pending DC license status at time of submission. - DC license must be in hand prior to start date. Description: The Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator-CVICU RN works 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The position includes weeknight and weekend call. Weeknight call is from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Weekend call starts Friday night at 5:00 PM and ends Monday at 7:00 AM. Call is remote unless medically necessary to be on site. Primary duties include coordinating the monitoring of patients with ventricular assist devices during procedures and operations. The coordinator collaborates with relevant departments to maintain device inventory, tracking, and response to FDA recalls. Ideal candidates will have experience as a VAD Engineer or VAD Nurse Coordinator, proficient in managing VAD, and able to take call and assist during procedures. Responsibilities also include providing patient education in accordance with regulatory standards.
