Position Job Title: Sterile Processor Supervisor Profession:
Sterile Processor Supervisor - Certified Specialty: Sterile
Processing Duration: 13 Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience:
Requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sterile
processing with an associate's degree. Minimum of 9 years of
professional experience in sterile processing without a college
degree. A minimum of 3 years of management experience. License:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or
Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
(CBSPD). Certifications: Certified Endoscopic Reprocessor (CER) or
Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER). Certified
Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Certified Sterile Processing Management
(CSPM). Must-Have: Sterile Processing Manager experience is
required. Description: Responsible for managing all processes
associated with cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical
instrumentation. Oversees storage and transport of specific
instrumentation, surgical sets, and patient care equipment.
Maintains adequate inventory of instruments and equipment while
demonstrating knowledge and skill in their use. Reviews preventive
maintenance contracts and maintains PM schedules for sterile
processing equipment. Provides case picking education and training
for all staff members in sterile processing. Arranges for the
transportation of borrowed instruments and equipment across
multiple entities. Ensures collaborative communication among all
parties involved in the transportation process. Supervises staff
members, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating
certification and educational programs. Assists in recruitment and
retention of qualified sterile processing staff. Leads in creating
and maintaining a development pathway for students in sterile
processing. Collaborates with oversight entities and department
specialists to develop new training programs. Implements training
programs based on needs assessments and regulatory requirements.
Develops measurement tools to monitor and report quality and
productivity within the department. Ensures compliance with AAMI,
AORN, and other regulatory agency standards. Maintains compliance
with relevant accreditation and regulatory standards. Participates
in regulatory and accreditation surveys. Requirements Required for
