working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN
in Martinsburg, West Virginia, 25401! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred) Must-Have: COVID vaccine
required Description: The ICU unit consists of 20 beds. The average
daily census is currently around 16-17 patients. They have
designated rooms for COVID if needed. Ratios in the ICU are 1:1 to
1:2, and 1:3 for stepdown. The unit supports stepdown needs. The
staffing model includes a designated Charge Nurse available 24/7.
The Charge Nurse may take one patient if necessary. The Charge
Nurse responds to all rapid responses and codes. Nurse aides and
nursing students may assist the staff. Weekend requirements include
every other weekend. They make an effort not to schedule travelers
on holidays unless necessary. Scrubs must be navy blue, with
specific guidelines on jackets and undershirts. No monitor techs
are available; monitoring is managed through a central station.
Routine drips are administered using Braun IV pumps. The unit has
in-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7.
Shifts are entered using a scheduling system, with block scheduling
allowed if agreed upon. Travelers typically do not float outside of
the ICU. The first day involves general hospital orientation,
followed by unit-specific training. Common diagnoses include
post-cath lab patients and those requiring complex care, such as
balloon pumps. There are no open heart surgeries performed in this
