Job Description Job Description Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OHS Clinic Lead) Location: Frederick, Maryland (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Anticipated Start Date: September 2026 Compensation Salary Range: $120,000 – $185,000 annually (based on experience) Position Overview A leading biomedical research campus in Frederick, Maryland is seeking a highly experienced and entrepreneurial Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a newly established Occupational Health Services (OHS) Clinic. This individual will serve as the Clinical Lead and Operational Authority , responsible for building clinic infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, delivering occupational health services, and managing medical surveillance and vaccination programs. This role requires a hands-on clinician and operational leader capable of launching and managing a fully compliant occupational health clinic in a complex research and laboratory environment. Key ResponsibilitiesClinic Leadership & Operational Development Lead the establishment and operational readiness of the Occupational Health Clinic Develop clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance Determine staffing requirements and support hiring of clinical and administrative personnel Oversee clinic operations, documentation, and compliance reporting Ensure readiness of supplies, equipment, and workflows Utilize occupational health management software for scheduling, EMR documentation, and compliance tracking Regulatory Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards including: OSHA regulations Joint Commission requirements CLIA regulations Maryland state laws Federal regulatory mandates Research protocol requirements Responsibilities include: Maintaining required certifications and licensure Coordinating physician oversight in accordance with Maryland regulations Preparing documentation for audits and inspections Managing annual compliance reporting Clinical Services & Direct Patient Care Provide occupational health evaluations and limited emergency care Perform first aid, suturing, and wound management Prescribe medications within scope of practice Coordinate referrals to external medical facilities when appropriate Manage occupational injury and illness cases Stabilize non-occupational emergencies occurring on campus Vaccination Program Administration Oversee immunization programs including: Hepatitis B Influenza Tetanus / TDAP MMR Rabies Vaccinia (ACAM2000 / Jynneos) International travel vaccines Ensure proper documentation, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Medical Surveillance Program Management Design and oversee surveillance programs related to: Bloodborne Pathogens Animal Allergen and Non-Human Primate Exposure Hearing Conservation Respiratory Protection Laser Safety Vision Screening Asbestos Exposure Rabies and Herpes Simplex Vaccine-related surveillance Ensure alignment with regulatory mandates and research requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with HR on return-to-work and workplace accommodations Support workers’ compensation case management Partner with Safety, Security, and Environmental Health teams Conduct ergonomic evaluations and risk assessments Provide CPR and First Aid training Develop employee safety training programs Issue campus-wide health advisory communications Required Qualifications Active Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC) 5–8 years of clinical experience DEA license (or ability to obtain) BLS and ACLS certifications Strong knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards Preferred Qualifications Occupational health experience Experience launching a clinic or healthcare program Experience managing healthcare staff Background in research, laboratory, or biomedical environments Familiarity with occupational health EHR platforms Experience managing vaccination programs Experience supporting federal or government contracts Leadership Competencies Entrepreneurial mindset with program-building capability Strong regulatory and compliance orientation Operational leadership and decision-making skills High accountability and ownership Excellent documentation and reporting discipline Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple stakeholders For more details contact at hdavda@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
