Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Washington, DC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,430 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 9 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified NICU RN in Washington, Washington DC, 20032! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: NICU Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required License: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district required Certifications: STABLE, NRP, BLS required Must-Have: Level III NICU experience, including proficiency with vents, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies Description: Must live at least 50 miles away. 3 shifts of 12 hours days required. Level III NICU nurses are needed who can manage vents, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies. The NICU primarily admits neonates from labor and delivery. The patient population ranges from as early as 23 weeks gestation to 4 months old. Nurses in the NICU respond to neonatal emergencies providing assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery needing closer observation. They attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries. Conditions treated in the unit may include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome. Services provided include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, including High Frequency Oscillation and nitric oxide inhalation therapy. Nurses assist in performing bedside procedures that include peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood products administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, monitoring of vital signs, and parent teaching.
