Summary This position is located in Manassas National
Battlefield Park, in the Maintenance Division. This job
announcement is open to receive applications from the first 100
applicants. The job announcement will remain open until either the
quota of 100 applicants, or 10/04/2024 is reached. All applications

consideration. Responsibilities The major duties of this position
are: Operates a trucks under 26,000 GVW to pick up supplies and to
transport materials and equipment. Performs routine maintenance and
repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and
related utilities. Performs minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry,
painting and masonry repairs. Collects trash, cleans and services
chemical toilets, restrooms, and visitor facilities, and other park
buildings. Uses simple hand tools and power tools safely.

Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable
adjudication. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement
for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct
Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You may be required to
operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your
official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle
operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if
management determines such need exists), you will be required to
sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State
issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked,
suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to
prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a
photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your
first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or
more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly,
you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or
submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own
expense, all certified driving records from all States that
discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past,
possessed by you. Please indicate in your application whether you
possess a valid State driver's license. You will be required to
operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your
official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be
required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving
Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or
submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own
expense, all certified driving records from all States that
disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past,
possessed by you. You may be required to complete training and
operate a four-wheel drive vehicle. You will be required to wear a
uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform
standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be
required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime
and shift work. You may be required to travel overnight away from
home up to 1 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge
card for travel purposes. Government Charge Card: You may be
required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government
charge card with travel and/or purchase authority. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge
and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do the

Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint

Installation, Repair, Etc. Use of Measuring Instruments If your
knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not

substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG)
positions. Additional Information This announcement may be used to
fill additional positions if identical vacancies occur within 90
days of the issue date of the referral certificate. Physical
Demands: Works from ladders, scaffolds and platforms and where
surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard
to reach requiring the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel,
climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently
lifts, carries and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 40
pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside
where dirt, spray, and fumes are present. Also required to work in
inclement weather and/or wear protective equipment and clothing
that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable. Documentation for the
Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) eligibility,
submission of ALL SF-50s and performance information for each
period of temporary/term employment that qualifies for LMWFA.
Performance documentation can be obtained by contacting the
supervisors for the positions you served in during your 24 months.
If they did not complete performance appraisals ask them to provide
a statement of performance for each period of service. The
statement must specify the dates for each employment period and
your level of performance (dates should match the dates on the
SF-50s).
